PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has announced generous rewards for the Super Falcons in a bid to recognise and reward them for outstanding achievements of the following their landmark victory on Saturday in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final held in Rabat, Morocco.
At a ceremonial reception held in the Presidential Villa at the nation’s capital, the president declared that each member of the Super Falcons will receive a three-bedroom flat located in the renewed Hope Estate.
In addition, every player is to be awarded $100,000 (approximately ₦153 million) in cash, accompanied by the prestigious Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) honour.
The President also revealed that the 11-man technical team supporting the Super Falcons will receive $50,000 (around ₦75.6 million) each in cash awards as a token of appreciation for their contributions.
Further support came from the Nigeria Governors Forum, which announced a separate reward of ₦10 million for each of the players.
