THE chairman, Caretaker Committee of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Rivers State, Evans Bipi, said he would be leaving office on 7th of October, 2024, as a fulfilled man having positively impacted on all communities in the LGA within his three months in office.

Bipi stated this at an occasion in Ogu to handover cars to members of the Caretaker Committee and distribute bags of rice to the poor and vulnerable people from the 12 wards of the LGA.

He scored his administration high on economic empowerment, human capital development, education, electricity, provision of water and other basic amenities.

He listed his achievements to include economic empowerment of over 800 persons from the rural populace with business grants, sustained distribution of food items to the poor and vulnerable people in the area throughout his three months in office to cushion the effect of widespread hunger occasioned by the prevailing economic hardship in the country.

Bipi recalled that over 400 indigent students of the LGA in higher institutions across the country had benefited from bursary award, and enrollment of over 100 applicants in free West African Examination Council (WAEC) examination.

Others include improvement of power and water supply in Bolo, renovation/remodeling of Corpers’ Lodge in Bolo, restoration of electric power supply in Ele satellite community after three years of blackout, as well as ongoing renovation of the community town hall.

The Ogu/Bolo council boss also promised to flag-off the construction of town hall in Owu-ogono satellite community before he leaves office.

Bipi, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, while thanking Governor Siminalayi Fubara for giving him the opportunity to serve as caretaker chairman, said he looks forward to a higher task in the State.

He also thanked the people of Ogu/Bolo for their support while pledging his commitment to the well-being of the people and continuous progress of the LGA.

The Ogu/Bolo caretaker chairman also said despite not securing the chairmanship ticket for the October 5, local government election, he remains the political leader of the LGA and loyal to the governor.

He expressed disappointment at the blackmail, mud-slinging and smear campaign against him by those he trusted.

The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Oko-Jumbo, who represented the governor at the occasion while presenting the cars to the Ogu/Bolo caretaker members, lauded Bipi for exhibiting high level of political maturity, steadfastness and unwavering loyalty to the governor despite not securing the chairmanship ticket to contest the forthcoming council election.

He also described the achievements of the Ogu/Bolo caretaker chairman within three months in office as remarkable.

Each of the 12 Wards of Ogu/Bolo received over 85 bags of rice from the outgoing council boss.
