THE Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr Hector Ekeakita, accused by the Police of being mastermind of violent attack on Mr Goodluck Iheamnacho, the Sole  Administrator of the council has denied any culpability.

Mr. Ekeakita in an audio message containing his response, which he released to a medium, cleared himself of any culpability in the incident that took place on Friday, June 20, 2025.

The Rivers Police had in a statement on Sunday by its spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police (SP), fingered Ekeakita and the Chief of Staff (COS) of the Ahoada East LGA of mobilizing 30 hoodlums to attack the LGA Administrator.

The statement urged them to report themselves at Rivers Police Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, for questioning.

However, Mr. Ekeakita in the audio message said: “I did not carry hoodlums to attack Goodluck Iheanacho. What happened is that, it is the youths of the LGA that came to visit him, to ask him why he has refused to take care of the council, sanitation and security and also allegedly underpaying political appointment.

“So, as a CSO, I only saw people who entered his office and also came out. So, whosoever that is mentioning my name is just trying to allege. So, I was not at the scene of the crime. I never mobilized any person.

“If the youth came to ask him what he was doing with their opposition, even to the extent of carrying a CV of an opposition to employ him in a Council. It is a barbaric act.

“So, the youths came to ask him what is happening. I don’t know what transpired there between him and the youth, only for me to see that he signed his resignation.

“He knows those that he is calling hoodlums. We have hoodlums all this while and the LGA is quiet? Have you people had anything like kidnapping, shooting, since I assumed office?

“He knows the kind of word he used on the youths and they started exchanging words. Whatsoever that happened there, I was not in the picture. He should be able to tell the Police the truth.”

Mr Ekeakita urged the Police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate alleged financial misappropriation by the LGA administrator.

“I also want the Commissioner of Police to properly checkmate the matter and let my name not be ringing round the news.”
