Port Harcourt-based music producer and artist, Preye Izogu, popularly known as Pizzibeats, has lamented the underutilization of social media by Port Harcourt-based artists, in Rivers State.
In an interview with a radio station in Port Harcourt, Pizzibeats noted that this setback hinders their ability to compete with their counterparts in Lagos and other major African cities.
Pizzibeats, who recently released an Extended Play project titled “Piz the Ripper,” emphasized the vast potential of social media in promoting musical content.
He urged Port Harcourt artists to leverage these platforms to increase their visibility and reach a broader audience.
In contrast, Pizzibeats observed that Port Harcourt comedians have been more proactive in harnessing the power of social media to promote their craft.
He encouraged artists in the city to take a cue from their comedic counterparts and maximize the benefits of social media.
Furthermore, Pizzibeats appealed to fans in Port Harcourt to continue supporting local music talent by patronizing their songs.
