Yahya Sinwar, Leader of Hamas
•His death won’t end the war – Netanyahu
THE United States President Joe Biden says late Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas, was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, Palestinians, Americans, and citizens from over 30 countries, including the October 7 massacres, rapes, and kidnappings.
President Biden said this after
Sinwar was killed in an operation by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) in southern Gaza on October 17, 2024.
The IDF shared images and videos of the location where Sinwar was killed, which was later geolocated to Gaza’s Tal as-Sutlan area.
According to the US President, Sinwar’s death is a significant blow to Hamas and a relief for Israel, the US, and the world.
The operation that led to Sinwar’s death was a joint effort between the IDF and US intelligence, with President Biden directing Special Operations personnel and intelligence professionals to work with their Israeli counterparts to locate and track Sinwar and other Hamas leaders.
President Biden sees Sinwar’s death as an opportunity for a “day after” in Gaza without Hamas in power.
