RIVERS State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd), has charged 2025 Batch A Stream I members of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the State to work hard and selflessly to meet the desired goals and aspirations of the people.
He stated this today at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, in Tai Local Government Area during the closing ceremony of 2025 Batch A Stream I orientation course for Corps members deployed to the State.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Chairman, NYSC State Governing Board, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, Ibok-Ete Ibas charged the Corps members to serve with “utmost sense of responsibility and patriotism so as to leave legacies that will stand the test of time” in their host communities.
He assured them that Rivers people will treat them with “superlative hospitality and goodwill which will make them not to think of returning to their home States after the service year.”
Earlier, Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, had informed the Sole Administrator that the Corps members performed excellently well in all their undertakings despite the challenges of the regimented life in camp.
He assured everyone present that the Corps members were ready for the next phase of the Scheme’s cardinal programme, where they would make positive impacts in education, primary healthcare, agriculture and rural infrastructure.
Oleghe also used the occasion to appeal to stakeholders, community leaders and Corps employers to provide the NYSC members with “suitable accommodation and welfare incentives that would motivate them for optimal performance.”
