THE Rivers State Sole Administrator Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd), has appointment Samuel Nwanosike, as the sole administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA).
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibibia Worika, on Friday.
According to the statement, Nwanosike’s appointment takes effect immediately.
The new RIWAMA boss was a former Chairman, Ikwerre Local Government Area, under the administration of former state governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Nyesom.
He has undoubtedly been an unrepentant loyalist of the minister and strongly opposed the policies and programmes of the administration of suspended state governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Nwanosike was a Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) under the chairmanship of Felix Obuah in the state.
He was also the former Secretary-General of a pro-PDP group in the state known as Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI).
Nwanosike’s appointment has received a flurry of comments on social media platforms. Some have commended the sole administrator, Vice Admiral Ibas (retd) for the appointment, saying that the new RIWAMA boss has capacity to superintendent the agency, while some believed that it was a plot to fix pro-Wike people into strategic places.
