HEAD of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, in her Independence Day statement, has recognised the indispensable role of civil servants in the nation’s development.

In a message to celebrate Nigeria at 64 Independence Day, Walson-Jack emphasised that their dedication is crucial for government operations, dubbing them “the unsung heroes” of progress.

She said, “As we celebrate our journey, we stand on the threshold of significant reforms to modernize our operations, enhance our skills, and build a more efficient, accountable, and responsive civil service.”

She referred to these reforms as part of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025, which serves as a roadmap requiring “our unwavering commitment and patriotism.”

The Head of the Civil Service urged civil servants to embody true patriotism by performing their duties with excellence.
“It is our diligence and hard work that bring about real progress,” she stated.

“Our daily efforts are the driving force behind Nigeria’s advancement, inspiring trust in government and creating a system that meets the needs of our people.”

Walson-Jack concluded by saying: “The best gift we can offer our fellow Nigerians on this Independence Day anniversary is to continue the march to greatness, culminating in a civil service respected at home and admired globally.”
