THE Ogoni Young Patriots have commended President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly for their swift response to the political impasse in Rivers State.
According to the group, the state was on the brink of chaos due to the escalating tensions between the Executive and Legislative Arms of the Rivers State Government.
Leader of the Ogoni Young Patriots, Aeba Godspower, stated that the emergency measures taken by President Tinubu were necessary to prevent further violence and bloodshed.
He said: “Rivers State was sitting on a powder keg. Only an enemy of Rivers State would have allowed the state to burn down and lives to be lost before taking decisive action.”
The group praised the president’s decisive action, noting that the declaration of a State of Emergency brought an immediate sense of relief and calm to the state.
The Ogoni Young Patriots also welcomed the appointment of Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Abas as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, expressing confidence in his ability to restore the state to its former glory.
The group noted that this development comes as President Tinubu continues to prioritize national security and stability in his administration’s agenda.
“In his 2025 budget presentation, the President emphasized the importance of securing peace and rebuilding prosperity in Nigeria.”
