A High Court of Rivers State sitting in Port Harcourt has convicted and sentenced Mr. Eze Kingsley to death by hanging, for the murder of Wagbara David.

David was gruesomely murdered on December 7, 2018, at No. 4 Rumumasi community along the East West, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

The convict, who was standing trial on three counts of murder and infliction of grievous bodily harm, was reported to have used a sharp object to stabbed the deceased (David) leading to his death as confirmed by a doctor at University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH).

On the day of incident, argument was reported to have ensued between Kingsley who was a conductor of a petroleum tanker and David, who ran a mortuary facility.

During the altercation, David told the driver of the tanker, which had petroleum products, to remove the the vehicle from his business place on the reason that the parking was instructing his business.

Delivering judgement in the matter, the trial Judge, Justice Boma Diepiri, held that the prosecution was able to prove all the ingredients of the body of evidence of murder beyond reasonable doubts and thereby convicted and sentenced Kingsley to death.

Justice Diepiri in pronouncing the sentence against the convicted ruled that the convict should be hanged on his neck until he is confirmed dead and urged that his soul rest in peace.
