A goat meat seller simply identified as Chukwudi, is said to be on the run after he allegedly inflicted machete cuts on Bari, a ‘wheelbarrow pusher’, over argument on N100 balance.l
Pentoks News gathered that the incident occured on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Bishop Okoye Street axis of Mile 3 Market, Port Harcourt, after the victim (Bari) had dropped the suspect’s goat meat he carried from the slaughter.
Eyewitnesses said that as the argument ensued, Chukwudi allegedly used the machete he uses in dismembering goat meat to inflict several cuts on Bari.
Chukwudi was said to have fled after the incident while Bari was taken to the Nkpolu Police Station (Mile 3 ) by his colleagues and he was rushed to the hospital after being issued a medical report.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Goat Meat Sellers Association, Bishop Okoye Branch, Bassey Effiong, confirmed the incident.
He said the Union will take disciplinary action against Chukwudi apart from the case in Police.
Effiong also disclosed that the union has supported the medical treatment of the victim who is in hospital with undisclosed amount to show the union down not condole evil.
