MRS Comfort Etim, the mother of 12 years old Bright rescued by residents from a suspected child trafficker has disclosed that the suspect inquired from the child if she was a virgin before abducting her.
Etim made the disclosure in an interview with journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
Her daughter was kidnapped around Evergreen junction, Government Reserved Area (GRA), Phase 3, Port Harcourt on Monday.
Pentoks News gathered that the suspect had abducted the child and wanted to zoom off before she was intercepted by some neighbours who observed the woman.
According to Etim, after the arrest, the suspect was rounded off and taken to a divisional Police station.
She narrated: “My child is 12 years old. My child told me that when the woman saw her, the woman asked her, if she (child) has slept with any man before; the child said no.
“My child doesn’t know the woman. I don’t know the woman or where the woman is from. I stay at back of Boungavilla at GRA Phase 3.”
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police (SP), has confirmed the incident.
It was learnt that the victim is receiving treatment in the hospital.
Meanwhile, the suspect is being detained at Sani Abacha Police Division on Abacha Road, GRA Phase 2, Port Harcourt.
