200 Trapped in Jos Building Collapse

At least 12 people have been reported dead after a two-story building collapsed at Saint Academy School in Jos, Plateau State.
Dozens of others have been reported injured in the collapse and are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
The school building collapsed on students and their teachers on Friday morning, trapping over 200 pupils under the rubble.
Emergency workers, security personnel and members of the Red Cross are working together to rescue trapped pupils.
The cause of the building collapse has been attributed to poor materials used in constructing the building and lack of professional supervision.
Locals said the terrain was an old mining environment.
They feared that probably Thursday downpour might have contributed to collapsed.
Locals said Jos City is in shock, and has not experienced such incident after several years.
